BTC Digital Ltd. Announces Georgia 10MW Cryptocurrency

BTC Digital Ltd, a Nasdaq-listed digital computing infrastructure company, today announced that construction of its cryptocurrency computing infrastructure project in Georgia, United States, has been completed and the project is now approaching deployment readiness. Based on the current power interconnection and pre-deployment preparation progress, the Company expects the project to reach a state within approximately the next two months in which it will be able to deploy high-performance cryptocurrency mining machines and commence digital asset mining operations.

The project has a planned power capacity of 10 megawatts (“MW”) and represents an important component of BTCT’s continued expansion of its computing infrastructure footprint in the United States. Based on the Company’s current projections for its planned high-performance mining machine configuration and overall operating plan, the 10MW facility is designed to support up to approximately 900,000 TH/s (approximately 900 PH/s) of theoretical computing capacity, assuming full deployment of the Company’s planned configuration of high-efficiency mining machines. The actual quantity of machines deployed, final realized computing power level and pace of operation will be dynamically adjusted based on factors including energization progress, mining machine models and energy efficiency, network difficulty, digital asset prices and overall market conditions.

BTCT is currently advancing a “dual-engine” development strategy. On one hand, the Company continues to advance its strategic transformation into an AI computing infrastructure service provider, building out its capabilities across high-performance computing infrastructure, data center construction and operation, and AI computing services. On the other hand, the Company will continue to sustain the ongoing development of its cryptocurrency computing business by constructing and operating high-quality computing infrastructure, deploying high-efficiency mining machines and optimizing operational efficiency, thereby further strengthening its business foundation in the digital asset infrastructure sector. The Company believes that its two core business lines share a strong basis for capability reuse and synergy across power resource procurement, data center development and construction, equipment deployment and operational management.

Once the Georgia project enters its operational phase, it will further increase the Company’s self-controlled infrastructure resources in the United States and is expected to enhance the operating scale and asset efficiency of BTCT’s cryptocurrency mining business. At the same time, the capabilities accumulated through this project in power infrastructure construction, data center operation and the deployment of high-density computing equipment will also provide a practical foundation for the Company’s subsequent expansion into higher-value AI and high-performance computing infrastructure businesses.

BTCT’s management commented, “Construction of the Georgia project has been completed, and the facility is approaching deployment readiness. We expect the project to reach a state within approximately the next two months in which we will be able to deploy high-performance mining machines and commence operations, after which we will progressively deploy such machines based on market conditions. At full deployment, the facility is designed to support up to approximately 900,000 TH/s of theoretical computing capacity, assuming deployment of our planned configuration of high-efficiency mining machines. At the same time, the Company will firmly advance its ‘AI computing infrastructure plus cryptocurrency computing’ dual-engine strategy: while actively developing our AI computing infrastructure service capabilities, we will continue to sustain the development of our cryptocurrency computing business, so as to fully leverage the Company’s existing advantages in power resources, infrastructure construction and computing operations, and to build a more diversified and resilient business foundation for long-term growth.”
