MCG Health, part of the Hearst Health network and an industry leader in technology-enabled, evidence-based guidance, announces its Chief Medical Officer, Anthony Oliva, DO, MMM, FACPE, and Director of Clinical Informatics, Jason Gillman, MD, FIDSA, will be featured speakers at the upcoming HLTH 2025 conference. This healthcare technology event is considered the premier event for innovation, bringing together leaders from across the industry to connect, collaborate, and transform healthcare. This year, the event will take place from October 19-22 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dr. Oliva will present “Enhancing Clinical Decisions with Trusted AI” on Oct. 21 from 10:25-10:45 a.m. (PDT). This session will explore how vetted scientific evidence can support the trustworthiness of AI-based clinical reasoning while reducing administrative burdens and improving outcomes. Dr. Oliva shared, “Healthcare professionals seek to make care decisions based on accurate scientific literature and the best available evidence. MCG has long been regarded as the ‘source of truth’ for AI-driven clinical reasoning over evidence-based guidelines, and I’m excited to share how our AI agent ‘thinks like a physician’ to help interpret patient data in the medical chart and align it with our evidence-based guidelines.”
Dr. Gillman’s session, “Trust Me, I’m an LLM” will take place on Oct. 20 from 10:40-11:00 a.m. (PDT). His session will take real case studies and show that by applying physician-developed, context-informed prompts against a curated knowledge base, the AI agent becomes more accurate and aligned with clinical guidelines. This offers a path toward secure and streamlined integration into utilization management workflows. Dr. Gillman shared, “In utilization review, trust is everything. When we embed evidence-based criteria and their clinical context into AI systems, we help support decisions that are not only highly efficient but also clinically sound.”
