Backed by global governments and cultural icons including Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Venus Williams, Robbie Williams, Sir Rod Stewart, and Sir Richard Branson, Global Wellness Day (GWD) returns on Saturday, 14 June 2025, uniting more than 170 countries with a clear mission: to make wellness a human right, not a privilege.
Founded by entrepreneur and wellness advocate Belgin Aksoy, this not-for-profit social movement invites individuals, communities, and institutions to prioritise health, wellbeing, and self-care through free, accessible activities that inspire change.
“Wellness is not a luxury, but the inherent right of every individual,” says Aksoy. “From small daily acts to large-scale events, Global Wellness Day breaks down barriers and makes wellbeing accessible to all. Together, we can democratise health and help humanity thrive.”
Now in its 14th year, GWD continues to grow its global footprint, driven by 120 ambassadors and a vast network of supporters and volunteers. From hikes in nature and yoga to beach clean ups, digital detoxes, mindful meditation, and peace concerts, GWD activities are always free and open to all.
Global Wellness Day 2025 Theme
In 2025, the theme #ReconnectMagenta invites the world to pause, reflect, and reconnect—cutting through the noise of modern life. Grounded in five pillars of holistic wellbeing, GWD 2025 encourages people to:
- Reconnect with Nature – Walk gently, live consciously.
- Reconnect with Self – Honour your inner needs.
- Reconnect with Family & Friends – Unplug to truly connect.
- Reconnect with Community – Build belonging and purpose.
- Reconnect with Longevity – Nurture your body, mind, and spirit.
“Connection is the heartbeat of life,” says Aksoy. “In an increasingly fragmented, tech-saturated world, #ReconnectMagenta restores warmth and vibrancy within ourselves, and with the world around us.”
